HOT! Not sure what's hotter than "Africa Hot", but I think this Canadian experienced it. We struggled last night, post 103km stage at 43c, only to be awoke to a shortened stage 2. Our mood lifted, albeit briefly, as we watched the thermostat too out in the mid to upper 40's!
Med tent. Looking into iv's
Evan and I have had to dig deep a few times as teammates, but this has been something so undiscribaly hard, that it's testing our resolve.
It's one thing to have one of us off, but neither of us can shake the heat making for some trying km's.
We're looking at another smouldering stage tomorrow, and it'll be a struggle for us to get on the bike.
Stage 3: 78km and 1650m climbing
Looking at thursdays forecast, 27c will be welcomed, but we'll have to battle some demons to make it that far into the race.
The outpour of support has been overwhelming and much appreciated/needed.
